Fat Injection
Fat injection is a popular method in aesthetic surgery with a wide range of applications. This procedure involves harvesting fat from specific areas of the body (typically the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs) and injecting it into various regions of the face and body (such as the cheeks, forehead, under the eyes, cheekbones, and lips) to enhance or reshape these areas. Fat is usually harvested using liposuction, and fat from the arms and legs can also be used if necessary.
Fat injection can be used to reduce wrinkles on the face, address under-eye sagging, lift the eyelids, enhance lips and cheeks, and for breast augmentation. The procedure can be performed under general or local anesthesia, with the duration typically ranging from 1 to 2 hours depending on the area being treated. Prior to the procedure, the patient’s expectations are considered, and fine cannulas are used for the fat injection. Swelling that occurs post-procedure usually resolves within 1-2 days. The treated area should be protected from heat and steam.
