Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth surgically placed into the upper or lower jawbone by a dentist or periodontist (gum and supporting bone specialist). These implants, typically made of titanium, closely resemble natural teeth and improve or restore a patient’s smile.
Istanbul Dental Implants
Dental implants are extremely strong and durable, and they can last for many years. However, they may need to be tightened or replaced over time due to normal wear and tear.
Reasons for Dental Implants
- Replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth
- Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing tooth space
- Restore a confident smile
- Improve chewing, speaking, and digestion
- Support and strengthen facial tissues
- Make bridges or dentures more secure and comfortable
Dental Implant Process
The process of getting dental implants can take several months and involves multiple visits. The first step is to take X-rays and impressions (molds) of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. While the area is numbed, the implant is surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate for up to six months. Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required to place the “post” that will hold the artificial tooth. In other cases, the post and anchor are already attached and placed at the same time.
After the healing period, the artificial teeth are made and fitted onto the anchor posts. This step can take several weeks to complete. Once finished, the implants will provide excellent stability and comfort.
Upon completion of your treatment, you will receive care instructions. Good oral hygiene, proper nutrition, and regular dental visits will help extend the life of your new implants.

What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are screw-like structures made of titanium used to replace missing teeth. The treatment begins with the preparation of the jawbone in the area of the missing tooth, followed by the placement of the appropriate implant. Implant placement is usually a quick and painless procedure. After the healing process, porcelain, E-max, or zirconium crowns are mounted on top.
Who Can Receive Implant Treatment?
Implant treatment is generally suitable for individuals with missing teeth. However, the bone tissue and structure must be appropriate for the treatment. If there is weakness in the bone structure, a bone graft may be added to strengthen the area. Individuals with health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and hemophilia should consult their doctors before undergoing implant treatment.

Initial Healing
After the implants are placed, the average waiting period is 3 to 5 days. After this period, the stitches are removed. You can return to our clinic to have the stitches removed or visit a local dentist.
